Bar Bingo @ Post 62
Everyone who has attended one of these Sunday events will agree that they have fun.
One particular group, on the south side of the bar area, has a tendency to get excited every time the Bingo caller calls the number O-69.  After a while, it's kinda contagious and more people go along with the excitement.
One particular day, a suggestion was made that a shirt should be created to wear on Bar Bingo days with the number O-69 on it.  Well, this group ran with the idea and the pictures reflected what happened next.
I think I can safely say that we are the only post with a shirt and cheer specifically for Bar Bingo days…only at Post 62  Dave Broyles

Memorial Day 2011
Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service. History reflects that it was first enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War. It was extended after World War I to honor Americans who have died in all wars. Begun as a ritual of remembrance and reconciliation after the Civil War, by the early 20th century, Memorial Day was an occasion for more general expressions of memory, as ordinary people visited the graves of their deceased relatives, whether they had served in the military or not.
Many people observe Memorial Day by visiting cemeteries and memorials. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 p.m. local time. Another tradition is to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff from dawn until noon local time. Volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at National Cemeteries.
Post 62 held a Flag-raising ceremony at 11 AM for approx 100 members, family and guests. There were a handful of members wore their military uniforms. After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed a Pot Luck luncheon and free entertainment provided by Cowboy Ken. We also held our annual Larry Gates Memorial Pool Tournament. Dave Broyles

Flag Day at Post 62
14 June 2011

Flag Day is celebrated on June 14, 2011. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.
On Tuesday evening, a Flag Retirement Ceremony was performed by members of Boy Scout Troop 239 Scoutmaster J.P. Garcia presided over the event.

On the 13th of June 2011, there was a little bit of excitement outside Post 62 in the parking lot.
It appears that a golf cart owner was traveling on 99th Avenue when a serious mechanical problem occurred with his golf cart.  He was able to pull off the road and into our parking lot just moments before the golf cart burst into flames.  By the time the Fire Dept got there (from the station right up the street), the golf cart was reduced to this "slightly used" condition. At least no one got hurt.
